Abraham Lincoln failed in business at the age of 21. He overcame the death of his sweetheart at the age of 26. He had a nervous breakdown at the age of 27. He lost congressional race at the age of 34 and lost a senatorial race at the age of 49. at last he was elected as the president of the United States at age 52. Eventhough he faced many hardships and problems he didn't give up , instead he kept on trying. Answer: To Lincoln , defeat was detour and not a dead end

According to me the above statement it absolutely true !

Means he never thought a failure(defeat) as the dead end of his life , may be it means that defeat was a longer route to success but not an end. He knew he have a lot to do , and this defeat is not the thing that stop his success. Lincoln had failed many times before he got the big success. He proved that defeat was a detour and not a dead end.

-Thank you
