To make a solution 40 gram of conmon salt is dissolved in 280 gram of water . Calculate it's concentration in terms of mass by mass percentage of the solution

mass of solution = mass of salt + mass of water

= 40g + 280g

= 320g

mass % of salt = (mass of salt/mass of solution) × 100

= (40/320) × 100

= 12.5%

mass % of water = (280/320)×100

= 87.5%
