That's why the amount of atmospheric oxygen is less in the higher altitudes.

In this such cases our body do the following things to collect the necessary oxygen:

1) Breathing at a high pace.

2) Breathing with both nose and mouth cavities.

3) Decreasing the oxygen consumption in the body.

4) Decreasing the heart rate in order to decrease the oxygen necessity.
