To prepare a mixture and a compound using iron filings and sulphur
powder and distinguish between them on the basis of (a) appearance,

(a)we can see both of them separately

(b)to separate , we can use magnet iron fillings will get attracted towards it.

(c)we can also use carbon disulphide , to separate , as sulphur will dissolve in it.

(d)when heated , Fe + S = FeS .
