rust is caused by the moisture present in the outer atmosphere and by coating a zinc layer on it, it cuts the contact of moisture from the outer atmosphere and thus we can prevent the iron from rusting. ..

When a iron particles r left outside in air for a long period of time then the iron articles will become as a reddish and brown colour. To avoid this we are applaying a layer of zinc in the surface of the iron articles which prevents rusting
