sublimations  is an interesting physical change. When a substance sublimes, it changes directly from a solid to a gas without passing through the liquid state. Dry ice sublimes, as do iodine and mothballs. This experiment nvolves the study of another common substance that sublimes – air freshener.

1. Take some ammonium chloride. crush it and put in china dish.

2. Put an inverted glass funnel over the china dish.

3. Put a cottom plug on the stem of funnel and close it.

4. Heat the china dish slowly.

OBSERVATION:On heating solid ammonium chloride, solid changes to gas without changing into liquid state. The gaseous ammonium chloride gets cooled on the upper part of the funnel and gets deposited in the inner side of glass funnel and wall of the funnel in solid state.
