To solution A, phenolphthalein solution is added in a test tube. The solution turns pink
.On adding of dilute HCl slowly, the pink colour disappears. Give reason for this observation. On
addition of little more solution A to the test tube, the pink colour reappears. What is the nature
of solution A?

Phenolphthalein is a Acid - base indicator .
It gives pink color in base solutions but no change in acid solutions
