To stitch a shirt 2 m 15 cm cloth is needed. Out of 40 m cloth, how many shirts can be

stitched and how much cloth will remain?​

2 m 15 cm =215cm

40m = 40 x 100 = 4000cm

To make 1 shirt 215cm cloth is required

There fore number of shirts can be made from 40m or 4000cm cloth =

4000 / 215

quotient = 18

remainder = 130

Therefore shirts made from 40m cloth = 18

cloth left = 130cm = 130/100 = 1.3m
