Answer:-

Cloth needed to stitch a shirt = 3m 25cm

we know, 1m = 100cm, so, 3m 25cm =

= 3 × 100 + 25 = 325cm.

Cloth available 40 m = 4000cm

No.of shirts we can stitch = Total cloth available / cloth needed to stitch a shirt =

=4000/325

=12.3076923077

= 12

12 shirts can be stitched from 40 m cloth.

12 × 325= 3900

Cloth remains = 4000 - 3900= 100cm or 1m.

{ \boxed {\mathfrak{ \red{ Answer}}}}

12 complete shirts can be made out of 4 m cloth and 100 cm ( 1 m ) cloth will remain

{ \boxed{ \mathtt{ \purple{Given}}}}

  • We have 40 m cloth
  • 1 Shirt require 3 m 25 cm cloth .

{ \boxed{ \mathtt{ \purple{to \: find}}}}

  • How many shirts can be stitched using 40 m cloth .
  • Remaining cloth .

{ \boxed{ \mathtt{ \purple{Solution}}}}

For making our calculation simple firstly just convert meter into centimetres .

☆ 1 m = 100 cm

⇝ So , 3 m = 300 cm

⇝ and 40 m = 4, 000 cm

⇝ Now we got that :-

⇝ 3 m 25 cm = 300 + 25

⇝ 1 shirt require 325 cm cloth .

\mathtt{Then\: 4,000 \:cm \:cloth \:can\: make \:shirts }. = 4000/325

⇝ 12 . 30 approx

 \mathtt{ans \: 1\:st \: 12 \: complete \: shirts \: will \: be \: there \: }

⇝ So now 12 shirts require cloth = 12 × 325

⇝ 3900 cm

⇝ Remaining cloth = Total cloth - cloth required by 12 shirts

 \mathtt{ans \: 2\: nd \: 4000 \:  -  \: 3900 \:  =  \: 100 \: cm}
