Given :- To stitch a uniform 1 metre 75 cm cloth is needed out of 147 metre cloth.

To Find :- How many uniforms can we stitch ?

Solution :-

We know that,

  • 1 m = 100 cm .

So,

→ Total cloth needed to stitch a uniform = 1 m + 75 cm = 1 × 100 + 75 = 100 + 75 = 175 cm

and,

→ Total length of cloth = 147 m = 147 × 100 = 14700 cm .

Now, let us assume that, total x uniforms can we stitch from total cloth .

then,

→ Total cloth needed to stitch a uniform × Total number of uniforms = Total length of cloth

→ 175 × x = 14700

dividing both sides by 5,

→ 35 × x = 2940

again dividing both sides by 5,

→ 7 × x = 588

→ 7 × x = 7 × 84

dividing both sides by 7,

→ x = 84 (Ans.)

Therefore, we can stitch total 84 uniforms .
