Germination is defined as the process in which seed is developed into new plant. In order to germinate, seeds must have suitable amount of resources and conditions required for growth. During this process, the embryo absorbs water due to which it wells and the seed coat ruptures. The first structure that emerges out of seed is the root. Root grows and absorbs minerals and water from the soil due to which plumule develops into small shoot which increases in length and emerges from the seed.
