❤take a potted plant, which has elongated leaves.

❤now, take a bottle and put some potassium Hydroxide ᴋᴏʜ solution in it.

❤cut a coʀk in two halves which fits into the bottle.

❤now place one leaf between the two halves of the cork and close the bottle in such a way that half of the leaf remains outside the bottle.

❤leaves this se tup for a few days in an open area with sufficient light

❤after few days, reᴍᴏᴠᴇ the leaғ from the bottle and detach it from the plant.

❤boil it first in water and then in alcohol to remove its chlorophyll contains.

❤now ᴘᴏᴜʀ a few drops of iodine solution iʟon the leaf.

ᴏʙsᴇʀᴠᴀᴛɪᴏɴ

=> half of the leaf that was kept outside the bottle turns blue but the part that was kept inside the bottle does not turn blue.

ʀᴇsᴜʟᴛ

=> the blue colour of the upper half of the leaf kept outside shows the presence of starch.this part was able to synthesise starch because you too was available to it.the lower half kept inside does not turn blue because you too was not available to it due to presence of potassium hydroxide.
