The Aravali mountain range is situated in the north-west part of our country and the whole Ganga plain is situated in the northern part of our country.

So if we think the visual map we will get that the Ganga plain is situated in the eastern side of the Aravali mountain range and for this reason the statement mentioned in the question is completely false.
