To change any system, a revolution is a must. I think you meant, that do you need a violent revolution?
If that is the question, my answer would be a No.
There can be a significant change without violence, blood-less revolutions have been proved very successful over the years. For example, The Gramdan-Bhoodan movement was a bloodless revolution that contributed in abolishing Zamindari in India. Further, how do we achieved independence? It was greatly due to non violent moves. In 1857, there was a revolution, and it was a violent one- but unfortunately it didn't have much positive effect (At least, I think so).
