1) religious disabilities act-it changed Hindi law of property allowing a convert from Hinduism to another religion to inherit the property of his father. the Hindus regarded this as an incentive to give up ones religious faith.

2) official policy of taxing religious land by british- the British began to tax the lands belonging to the mosques and temples. these lands had been exempt from taxation by previous rulers and the families whose livelihoods were dependent on these lands started spreading idea that the British were trying to crush the Indian relegions
