How period of periodic table can be identified by valency??


For ex-if any element have electronic configuration of 2,8,6 then how we will come to know that it belongs to 3rd period

because the number of shell are 3 then period no. will also be 3

See you have to take any Element like

Mg

Do it's electronic configuration means 2,8,2 as it's atomic no is 12

since it has 3 shell therefore period no is also 3
