Torque on a current carrying rectangular coil inside a galvanometer is maximum and constant irrespective of its orientation as it is suspended inside RADIAL magnetic field.

  • A galvanometer contains horseshoe shaped magnet that provides a radial magnetic field.

  • So, whenever current flows through the rectangular coil in the galvanometer, the angle between magnetic moment and magnetic field vector is always 90°.

  • So, \boxed{\tau = MB\sin(\theta)}

  • Hence, the torque is always maximum and doesn't vary with different angles of the coil.

Hope It Helps.
