Answer:

The formula for Torque on a closed loop is given as

Torque = Dipole vector x Magnetic field vector

Also, since dipole acts in the direction normal to the plane of the loop the field lines and the dipole vector will be perpendicular to each other and hence correspondingly their cross product that is the torque on the loop will be maximum.
