Dear diary
I write toyou in state of deep sadness over a mistake which I shall never be able torectify! Do you remember I had talked to you about a man named, Ali who came tothe post office with devotion in hope of receiving a letter from his elopeddaughter? That man is dead! I have a burden on my heart related to him. I usedto be a party to the jokes made about him by the postmasters. I never tried tounderstand him. Once I behaved with him very rudely! But ever since my own daughter'sillness has tortured me, I have started feeling sorry for not having understoodAli. I have been told he is dead. And see the irony! His daughter has written aletter to him when he is no more! Do you know I saw his spirit? Shall it everhaunt me? I will always regret for having treated Ali unfairly while all thewhile he was in so much of pain and anguish. O God, I pray to you to forgiveme! Now I am suffering the same pain that he suffered. Is it God's punishment to teach me a lesson? I promise to God, I will always be sensitive to other people's sufferings. I wish I could be near my daughter. May she recover soon!
