the complete reflection of a light ray reaching an interface with a less dense medium when the angle of incidence exceeds the critical angle.

Answer:

when light Ray is travelling from rare medium to denser medium and if we increase the incident Ray then, at some point refracted Ray lie in the boundaries of these two medium then the angle of incident Ray is become critical angle . and these refracted Ray come again to the same medium where it converted into refracted Ray to reflected Ray .this is known as total internal reflection.
