Given :  total the price of a bat and ball is 360 rupees,when price of a bat is increased by 20% and price of ball is decreased by 20% then total price became 416

To Find :  decreased price of a ball.

Solution:

Price of Bat = B

Price of Ball = 360 - B

Increased price of Bat  = B + (20/100)B = 1.2B

Decreased price of Ball =  (360-B) - (20/100)(360 - B)

= 0.8(360-B)

= 288 - 0.8B

1,2B + 288 -0.8B  =  416

=> 0.4B = 128

=> B = 320

Bat Price = 320

Ball Price = 40

Increased price of Bat  = 384

Decreased price of ball = 32
