Trade enabled the people from different parts of the world to mingle with each other. This resulted in the mixing of ideas and often the development of a new stream of thought. For example using the path of the Silk Route early Christian missionaries travelled to Asia, as did early Muslim preachers a few centuries later. We also are aware that , Buddhism emerged from eastern India and spread in several directions through intersecting points on the silk routes.
