Yes , this statement is very true that the Trade is flourished and markets expanded in the 19th century but there was a darker side to the process.

As we know that the Britishers came India through the way of trade .They came India only to trade but they set up their colony in India rule over there for many years and after many struggles Indians put them out of India .

When India get independence the new parliament and new government apply many trade barriers for that no one can enter the India again and rule , this is obvious that no one can take risk again after such a big loss .

But this also effect the Indian economy in a direct manner as the trade is essential for the development of a country and after the Act of 1991, Trade barriers were restricted and trade flourished and markets expanded.

This make India a developing country and to increase in its economy but this has a darker side as any one can then rule over India again .But they take a risk and move on and now India is one of the fast developing countries.
