Tradescantia leaf is usually taken for preparing temporary mount of leaf peel to observe stomata .Why?name any two leaves which can be used for the experiment.

because tradescantia is easily available nd have large stomata nd easy to peel its layer nd it always gives better result.
There are various plants whose leaves can be used also.....
ex. Pelargonium sp.
Vicia faba
Allium cepa

Answer:  

Tradescantia or rhoeo leaves provides good peel. These peel can be taken out by easily by using needle and scaple. The dorsal surface of leaves exhibit more number of stomata in order to perform the process of transpiration. In Tradescantia the lower surface of the leaf is suitable to take out the leaf peel. The leaf is also pink or purple in color. The peel is pink or purple in color that does not require any other staining agent to observe the stomata under microscope.

The name of two leaves which can be used for observing stomata are:

Allium cepa (onion)

Bryophyllum
