The Hindu religion and the Indian Culture in general is full of customs, traditions and festivals which involve, plants, animals and birds. This is due to the thousands of years of History of the Indian continent, influenced by Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Aryan and Dravidian cultures.

E.g. Many Hindu rituals revolve around the sacred plan called Tulsi, which is thought to bring good luck and charm in a household.

Another ritual is the Jallikattu, which usually takes place in Tamil Nadu and other South Indian States and involves Cows and Buffaloes.

Usually, Cows are worshiped in indian culture and called gao-mata, or cow mother due to the numerous benefits it provides to man-kind

Another Tradition is called  Dussehra , in which the neelkanth (Roller Birds) are captured and tortured, due to a belief that they are evil.

Indian superstition also has a huge place for Snakes, Rats and Monkeys such as Hanuman
