Train a and b leaves station at the same time. Train a travels in west direction and train b travels north direction. Train a is 2 km/h slower than train b. After 5 hours trains are 290 km apart. Find the speed of both trains.

we know
speed =  \frac{distance}{time}
let the distance covered by train a is D.
Then distance covered by train b is 290-D.
and if the speed of train is a is x then that of b will be x-2.
so according to the question we get two equations:-
x =  \frac{d}{5}  \\ x - 2 =  \frac{290 - d}{5}
solving both we get
x = 30 km \: per \: hr\\  d = 150km
so speed of train a is 30km/h and that of b is 28km/h.
