Speed of train = 60 km/h

Time to cross a pole = 9 s

Length of train = Distance traveled

Distance = Speed * Time

    speed is in km/h.. convert it into m/s (multiply by 5/18)

Distance = 60*5/18  * 9 = 60*5/2 = 150 m

Length of the train = 150 m

Speed of the train is given 60 km/hr .

Time taken by the train to cross the pole = 9 s .

We know that 1 km = 1000 m .

Also 1 hr = 60 × 60 s = 3600 s .

So the speed of the train is 60 km/hr

⇒ 60 × 1000/3600 m/s

⇒ 60 × 10/36 m/s

⇒ 600/36 m/s

⇒ 100/6 m/s

⇒ 50/3 m/s

We know that :

Speed = distance / time

⇒ distance = speed × time

⇒ distance = 50/3 m/s × 9 s

⇒ distance = 50 × 3 m

⇒ distance = 150 m

The distance travelled by the train is 150 m .
