Answer :-

Average speed of the train is 52.38 km/h .

Explanation :-

We have :-

→ Speed from P to Q (v₁) = 50 km/h

→ Speed from Q to P (v₂) = 55 km/h

To find :-

→ Average speed of the train .

________________________________

It is given that the train travels from P to Q and then returns from Q to P.

As distance bewteen the two points is constant, so same distance is travelled by the train in both cases.

When distance travelled a body is same, then average speed can be calculated as :-

V = 2vv/(v + v)

⇒ Vₐᵥ = 2(50)(55)/(50 + 55)

⇒ Vₐᵥ = 100(55)/105

⇒ Vₐᵥ = 5500/105

V = 52.38 km/h
