The mechanism of pollination in which the pollen grains is transferred from anther of one flower is to the stigma of another flower” present in the same plant it is called as Geitonogamy. When the pollen grain from the “anther of one flower” is transferred to the “stigma of flower” present in the other plant it is known as Allogamy or Xenogamy.
Commonly it is known as “cross-pollination”. The self pollination or Autogamy is the type of pollination in which the transfer of pollen grain from the “anther to the stigma of the same plant” occurs.
