Hence the water vapour formed due to transpiration is soon dried up by wind. hence the area outside the leaf does not get saturated with water vapour. hence the rate of transpiration increases. but, whereas during a calm day, the water vapour gets dried up slowly and after long time. hence the rate of transpiration is reduced.
