Answer:

Hey! Here's your answer. (I hope you meant ROAD transport).

Road transport and rail transport are not competitive but complementary to each other due to the following reasons:

1) Road transports are efficient for travelling short distances, whereas railways are usually efficient for travelling long distances.

2) Railways can halt only at specie destinations where loading/unloading facilities are available, but vehicles on the road can be loaded or unloaded virtually anywhere.

3) Road transport is economical in the transportation of few persons and relatively smaller amount of goods over short distances, whereas rail transport is more suitable for a large number of people and heavy goods

4)The deficiency of railways is compensated by road transport.

5)  It is beneficial for perishable goods to be carried by roads in short period of time, whereas nonperishable and bulky are transported by railways for a longer distance.

Have a great day ;)
