There are 2 active volcanoes in India – one in Barren Island and another at Baratang. Both the places are located in Andaman islands.

The volcano at Barren Island is the most recently active one and the volcano at Baratang is active since 2003.

There are other volcanoes in India which are now extinct, namely the Narcondam volcano at the Andaman Islands, Deccan Traps at Maharashtra, Dhinodhar Hills in Gujarat, and Dhosi Hills and Tosham Hills in Haryana.

In South-East Asian countries, the following volcanoes have been reported.

1. Cambodia – Yak Loum volcano

2. Malaysia – Bombalai volcano

3. Thailand – Phanom Rung volcano and Doi Pha Khok Hin Fu volcano

4. Myanmar – Lower Chindwin volcano, Mount Popa volcano, and Singu Plateau

5. Vietnam - Bas Dong Nai, Cu-Lao Re Group, Haut Dong Nai, Ile des Cendres, Toroeng Prong, and Veteran volcano.

These details can be used to make the travel brochure for volcanoes in India and in South-East Asia.
