Louise - Sebastien Mercier was a French novelist and dramatist of the 18th century. He declared “The printing press as the most powerful engine of progress and public opinion is the force that will sweep away despotism”.  He had shown his interest in reading in most of his novels also, the heroes have changed by the act of reading Convince of the power of print in bringing enlightenment and demolish political system where the ruler holds absolute power.
