Along the period:-

increases this is due to size of atom decreases in which hold of nucleus on outermost electrons will be more and there will be more force of attraction between nucleus and outermost electrons.

hence we know that size of atom is inversely proportional to the ionization enthalpy.

Down a group:-

decreases the is due to size of atom increases in which the hold of nucleus on outermost electrons will be less and there will be less force of attraction between the nucleus and outermost electrons.

hence we know that the size of atom is inversely proportional to the ionization enthalpy.

And nuclear charge on along the period and down the group is increase.

hope this will help you and marks it as brainlist plzzzzzzzzz also follow me guys.
