Given: Ratio of the sides AB, BC, and AC of a triangle ABC= 4: 3: 6

           AC is longer than AB by 6cm.

To Find: Perimeter of the triangle ABC.

Solution:

Let the common factor in the length of sides AB, BC, and AC be x cm.

∴ AB= 4x cm

  BC= 3x cm

  AC= 6x cm

According to the problem,

AC= AB + 6

⇒ 6x = 4x + 6

⇒ 6x - 4x = 6

⇒ 2x = 6

⇒ x= 3 cm

∴ Sides of the triangle,

AB= (4 × 3) = 12 cm

BC= (3 × 3) = 9 cm

AC= (6 × 3) = 18 cm

∴ Perimeter od triangle ABC= AB + BC + AC

                                                = (12 + 9 + 18) cm

                                                = 39 cm

Answer: The perimeter of the triangle ABC is 39 cm.
