triangle ABC is right angle at A . AD is drawn perpendicular to BC. If AB= 5 cm and AC = 12 cm, find the area of triangle and length of AD.

In the given triangle,

Perpendicular = 5
Base = 12

So, Hypotenuse (by Pythagoras theorem) is 13

Hence area = 1/2 * 5 * 12

= 30....

Now,

Take BC as base.
then.

1/2 * BC * AD = Area = 30

So, AD is 60/13
