Area of the shaded region can caculated as

A = Area of triangle - Area of Segment

Area of triangle = 1/2 × b × h = 1/2 ×12×6 = 36cm²

cos(∠QPR) = 6/12 = 1/2

∠QPR = 60°

Area of segment = πr²∅/360°

                            = π×6²×60/360

                            = 18.84cm²

Therefor, A = 36 - 18.84 = 17.16cm²
