Most sperms die and even if more than one makes it through even then the first to reach the ovum will fertilize it and just at that moment it will not stay as ovum it will become a zygote .One more thing if more than one sperm fertilizes the ovum the offspring will be 3n chromosomes number this is simply impossible except for endospermic tissues
