49. one mole of an element has 6.023 *10^23 nom of atoms
6g of carbon has (6.023*10^23)/2=3.0115*10^23 atoms
1g of magnesium has (6.023*10^23)/24=2.51*10^22 atoms

therefore the ans is 3.0115*10^23/2.51*10^22 = 12.15 g

Heya!!

Answer no.49.

Let us now say that the Molar mass of carbon = 12 g/mole
Number of moles of carbon in 6 g = 6/12 = 0.5
Number of atoms in 1 mole of carbon = 6.02 x 1023
So, the Number of atoms in 0.5 moles of carbon = 6.02 x 1023 x 0.5 = 3.01 x 1023

Therefore ,mass of 6.02 x 1023 atoms of magnesium = 24 g
Mass of 3.01 x 1023 atoms of magnesium = (24/6.02 x 1023 ) x 3.01 x 1023
= 12 g

Hence, 12 g grams of Magnesium will have the same number of atoms as 6 grams of Carbon

Answer no.50.

Now let us say that Mass of 1 atom = 2 * 10-23g

Mass of 1 mole of atom = ( 2 * 10-23 ) * ( 6.023*1023 ) = 12.046 g

So atomic mass of element = 12.046g

Element would be = Carbon ( C )

Hope it helped u !! :)
