Total Surface Area of Cylinder= 3018 cm²

Curved Surface Area of Cylinder= 1848 cm²

To Find:

  • Area of base of cylinder

Solution

We know that,

➠ TSA of Cylinder= 2πr(r+h)

➠ CSA of Cylinder= 2πrh

where,

'r' is radius of cylinder

'h' is height of cylinder

So,

CSA of Cylinder= 2πrh= 1848

⊲ 2πrh= 1848 \rule{100}{2}(1)

TSA of Cylinder= 2πr(r+h)= 3018

⊲ 2πr(r+h)= 3018

⊲ 2πr²+2πrh= 3018

From (1)

⊲ 2πr²+1848= 3018

⊲ 2πr²= 3018-1848

⊲ 2πr²= 1170

⊲   πr²= 585

Also, we know that cylinder has circular bottom or base

So,

Area of circular base= πr²= 585 cm²

Hence, area of bottom of cylinder is 585 cm².
