given,12 balls are distributed among 3 boxes & we hv to find the probability that the 1st box will contain 3 balls.
now, each ball can be put into any of the 3 mentioned boxes...
therefore , total number of ways in which 12 balls can be put into 3 boxes=3^12.
again, out of 12 given bals ,3 balls can be choosen in ^12c3 ways.
remainig,12-3=9..out of the other 2 boxes. it can be done in2^9 ways.
=^12c3*2^9ways.
hence, the probability that the 1st box will contain 3 balls=^12c3*2^9/3^12.
