hey mate!

here is your answer:

let the number be x

according to the question:

2x+(2+x)3=21

2x+6+3x=21

5x=21-6

5x=15

x=15/5

x=3

the number is 3

hope it helped you ^_^

aashi4661: how did you do the second step
aashi4661: plz tell me
dishagaur748: At first we made an equation i.e 2x+(2+x)3=21
aashi4661: then
dishagaur748: then 2x+(3×2)+(3×x)=21 as 3 was multiplied in the first step to the whole bracket 2+x , thus we will multiply 3 tp to both the numbers 2 and x
dishagaur748: now 2x+6+3x=21
dishagaur748: and x=3
aashi4661: ok
