MG Ranade was a social reformer, an activist, a distinguished scholar and founding member of the Indian National Congress. He was among the foremost who fought against untouchability, caste system and supported liberalization of women.
His most notable achievements include:
· His unceasing efforts to reform India’s social structure. He constantly tried to improve the conditions of women and children and tried to abolish caste system.
· He established the Prarthana Samaj which worked towards promoting the principles of Vedas.
