Answer:

2× x = 2× 56 = 112

3×x =3×56= 168

2x + 3x =180

5x=180

x=180/5

x=56

GIVEN:

  • Two adjacent angles of a paralleogram are in the ratio 2:3.

FIND:

  • measures of the smallest angle = ?

SOLUTION:

The given ratio of the angles is 2:3

Let, the f1st angle be 2x

2nd angle be 3x

Now,

we know that the sum of the two adjacent angle of a paralleogram is 180°

Therefore,

 \rm \to 2x + 3x = 180 \degree

 \rm \to 5x = 180 \degree

 \rm \to x =  \frac{ 180 \degree}{ 5}

 \rm \to x =  \frac{ \cancel{180 \degree}}{ \cancel{5} } = 36 \degree

now, f1st angle = 2x = 2 × 36 = 72°

2nd angle = 3x = 3 × 36 = 108°

Thus, largest angle = 108°

and

smallest angle = 72°
