Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are in the ratio 3:6. If smaller side is 45 cm. Find the
perimeter of the parallelogram.

Answer:

Let the two adjacent sides of the parallelogram be 3x and 4x Then

2(3x+4x)=105

⇒14x=105.

⇒x=7.5

∴ The two sides are 3×7.5 cm and 4×7.5 cm

i.e, 22.5 cm and 30 cm

Area of the parallelogram = base x altitude

= 30 cm × 15cm = 450cm
