Answer:

LET THE SMALLER ANGLE = X

SO , LARGER ANGLE = 3X

AS WE ALL NOW ANGLES ON A LINEAR PAIR ARE SUPPLEMENTARY

3X + X = 180

4 X = 180

X = 180 / 4

X = 45 [ SMALLER ANGLE ]

3X = 45 × 3 = 135 [ LARGER ANGLE ]

Answer:

  Let us take the angles to be x and y.

We know that they make a linear pair,

 x+y=180° ....   (1)

Let x be the larger angle ,

    x=3y.....(2)

Substitution of 2 in 1,

        3y+y=180°

⇒4y=180°

⇒y=180/4=45°

Now, as x=3y    ⇒x=3(45)=135°

∴x=45°

 y=135°
