Two balls of each of mass 80 g moving towards each other with a velocity 5 m/s collide and rebound with the same speed. What will be the impulse of force on each ball due to the other? What is the value of change in momentum of each ball?

Mass = 80grm = 0.08kg

U = 5m/s

V = -5m/s

Now …

Impulse = change in momentum

Impulse = m(v-u)

Putting values

I = 0.08 ( -5-5)

I = 0.08 × (- 10)

Therefore , I = - 0.8 N/sec

Hence , change in momentum = -0.8kgm/s
