As we know both the balls have equal mass and equal velocities after the collision both the balls will move with same velocity.

Using coefficient of restitution formula:

e=v2-(-v1)/ u1-(-u2)

e=v2 + v1/ 6-(-6)

e= v2+v1/ 12

1/3×12= v2+v1

v2+v1 = 4. (Since we know final velocities will be equal v1=v2=v)

2v =4

v=2
