Two beakers labelled A and B contain salt solution. Beaker A contains 2g Sodium chloride in 100ml water while beaker B contains 5g Sodium chloride in 100ml water? Which solution do you think is more concentrated?

Concentration of solution = Amount of solute / Amount of solvent.

IN BEAKER 'A' ,

Amount of solute (salt) = 2g

Amount of solvent (water) = 100ml

then from ,

Concentration of solution = Amount of solute / Amount of solvent.

      Concentration of solution = 2 / 100 = 0.02

IN BEAKER 'B' ,

Amount of solute (salt) = 5g

Amount of solvent (water) = 100ml

 then from ,

Concentration of solution = Amount of solute / Amount of solvent.

          Concentration of solution = 5/100 = 0.05

THERE FORE WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT BEAKER 'B' IS MORE CONCENTRATED THAN BEAKER 'A'
