Two bees A & B were hovering in the garden near two flowers. There positions with respect to origin are given for bee A(1,2,3) m and for bee B (3. 2. 1)m. At t=0. they start moving towards each other with equal speeds and meet at a  point P after 1/√2 s.

To Find : their speed must be :-

(A) √2m/s (B) 2 m/s (C) 2√2m/s (D) 4 m/s​

Solution:

A(1, 2, 3)

B (3, 2, 1)

Distance between points  = √(3 - 1)² + (2 - 2)² + (  1 - 3)²

= √4 + 0 + 4

= √8

= 2√2 m

They move towards each other with equal speeds

Hence Distance covered by Each is Equal and half of total distance

=  2√2 /2

=  √2  m

Time Taken = 1/√2 s.

Speed  = Distance/time

= √2 / (1/√2)

= 2  m/s

Correct option is B) 2 m/s
